These types of digital discrete LED dot clocks were all the rage in the 1970s and early 1980s when LEDs first came out. This Cheops model is one of the simpler versions with just minutes and hours rings of LEDs. The clear Plexiglas case showcases the electronics and circuitry of the clock without the "busy" distraction of seconds LEDs or pendulums always flickering. The hour ring consists of 12 green LEDs, and the minutes ring is a circle of 60 LEDs, red for the minutes with amber LEDs at each 5-minute mark. In the center there is a small dimly lit low-voltage lamp; this provides a reference point in the dark so you can see where the minute and hour LEDs are illuminated on the "dial." (In the third photo this lamp appears red but it is actually whiteish.)
Clock runs well and keeps accurate time. Power adapter (10 VAC) is included but not pictured. Two switches on the back are used for time setting, Hours and Minutes. The 3-position toggle switches: Down=Advance, Center=Hold, Up=Run. As with all these vintage LED clocks, they can be somewhat temperamental to set, but the Hold feature on this one makes it a bit easier.
The clock case measure 9 inches square and 3 inches thick (not including toggle switch handles). Four clear plastic feet on the bottom provide stability. Gentle back-lighting can really highlight the electronic circuitry.
I don't have the original manual for this clock, so I am including a similar Amelect CL7401A clock kit manual. The Amelect is a more complex clock but the basic circuitry is the same. While I don't anticipate that you will have any problems with the Cheops, this other manual might come in handy in future years.
As this is a 40-50 year-old piece of vintage electronics, it is sold as-is with no warranty. It will be safely packed for shipping and delivery to you.
