DESIGNER -  Priscilla of Boston
STYLE - According to the label resource, this is a 1950's wedding dress.  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY as I'll try to describe it as fully as possible.
The fabric is a luxurious, full-bodied waled fabric I believe is called ottoman (probably silk) in a shimmery gold shade. I don't think it's CHANGED to this shade with age, I believe this is the original princess-y gold as it is uniformly gold even in the inside seams.  The fabric is in good, but not perfect condition--it needs a good professional cleaning by someone who knows about restoration of vintage fabrics.
The fabric isn't fragile, especially, but it has a nap to it that needs to be brushed or petted back into condition in several locations, especially near the left shoulder and upper sleeve of the jacket where it rubbed against boutonieres during the dancing (actually I don't know that, but it could be the case :-).
The dress itself has 3/4" wide straps and zips up the back (it's too small to zip all the way up on my size 8-10 mannequin).  The skirt is pleated at the narrow waist and is quite full below that. There is a crinoline built in to the skirt, but it's not supposed to be tutu-ish or stick out--just keeps it in place.
There is a short/cropped jacket to match.  It zips up the back as well and has covered buttons hiding the zipper.  There are 2 small bows just below the bustline.
The zipper has been replaced in the dress---it's a more modern plastic zipper, presumably from someone wearing their mother's wedding dress?, whereas the zipper in the jacket appears to be the original metal one.
My photos make the fabric look discolored or splotchy, but that's just the way the light catches in the photos.  There ARE some smudges on the dress (the largest one is shown), but again, I believe they'll come out easily with a cleaning, and there are several climate spots at the hemline that probably won't come out.
This dress is very long, so the hemline could easily be turned under.
MY BEST BOTTOM-LINE "TAKE" is that this is a lovely vintage dress.  It is NOT perfect, but then again, I suspect anyone who loves vintage and who has the willowy figure for it will love it for the character and memories and love it's seen shared.  It's beautiful and romantic despite its few flaws.

CARE - Dry clean, use a really good cleaner for this---someone who knows old fabrics!!)
