Stunning Vintage 1940s Ivory Satin Lined Wedding Gown w/ Jacket Veil and Shoes
This is a complete outfit including the shoes.
Very 40s Style complete with a gorgeous satin jacket in Victorian style, shoes, veil and dress!
This was a custom order.
It must have been for a winter wedding
because
the reverse side of the satin fabric is a fuzzy warm material.  See photos. That would explain the need for the matching custom jacket.
The wedding dress is very simple and beautiful with a full skirt but no train.
The jacket is a structured, darted piece with a great attention to detail including lace at the collar.
The veil is in very good condition and has two layers for that all important walk down the aisle.
This dress is at least 75 years old and possibly a bit older.
Here are the important details:
The jacket has a large number of Victorian style fabric covered buttons. There are 5 button tops that have come off. I have 3 of them which can be reattached. Two are missing. My suggestion would be to replace the very bottom cuff buttons on the sleeves with a sparkling crystal button while moving and reattaching the others.
The jacket also has a couple of small marks on the back near the collar. If, after a professional cleaning, these spots are still
visible, a bit of vintage lace artfully placed would cover them completely.
The dress also has a few small marks including on the straps, which may come out with a professional cleaning and, if not, could be covered with a bit of lace or sparkle. The side zipper needs to be sewn a bit to add to its strength where it attached to the dress. There is a small amount of fabric left in the seams if you wanted to take the dress out a bit.
The Veil is in great condition. A professional cleaning and a bit of starch is all it needs.
The shoes have no size or maker tags. They have some staining here and there...especially on the heels but I think a professional cleaning would make a huge difference.
