Vintage Brass Carriage Alarm Clock Marked ED Not Running AS-IS Parts or Repair

Estate sale clock. I know very little about it. Marked ED on the back. The markings for the alarm and the winding know for the movement appear to be in French. Made of what looks like brass with a porcelain dial. Measures about 5.5" tall x 4.5" wide x 2.5" deep.
Has several condition issues that I see. When wound, it will tick for a few seconds and then stop. The hands are bent some. There are some dents in the case. The porcelain dial has an issue in the upper left corner and it looks like it was painted there or something. Also, I would expect to see a glass crystal or such, but there is none.
That is what I noticed. I am no expert, so I could be missing something as well.
